This Collins KWM-1 Transceiver with RARE Metal Escutcheon & 516F-1 Power Supply, is in excellent cosmetic condition.
The transceiver and power supply have the original paint and finish.
This KWM-1 however, has a Metal decorative Escutcheon which is obviously factory made and installed.
Usually you will find an engraved black Bakelite Escutcheon on the KWM-1 but this one has a beautiful metal finish and looks great. I have never seen one like this on a KWM-1.
I did power up this unit and it will need some attention.
It will not turn on when you move the mode switch to the SSB position as it is supposed to. when moved to the next position (Calibrate) the radio turns on and receives but then the calibrator is on. It appears to work in the CW position and the rig does key up in the tune position.
The mode switch is not burnt and looks to be in great shape so it is something else causing the problem.
I did not test it any farther than that as it has all the original electrolytic capacitors and really should be changed.
The power supply appears to be working fine.
The top cover on the final cage is also missing.
I am selling this rig as is as described, for the owned who is elderly and can no longer use it.
I will include the original manual as well.
